COWI India's Marine Department, comprising 55 skilled professionals including geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and BIM specialists, is at the forefront of shaping the future of Coastal & Marine Engineering. Collaborating with experts from various countries, you will be involved in advanced projects in India, Singapore, and Indonesia, focusing on ports, harbours, coastal, and marine structures. As a Senior Marine Structural Engineer, your primary responsibility will involve designing multi-disciplinary marine, port, and harbour projects. You will work closely with the Head of Department, collaborating with other Engineers and BIM/CAD staff to deliver design packages efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Performing engineering activities and deliverables for tender, basic, and detailed design of port and marine structures. - Coordinating a team of engineers and designers to deliver projects effectively. - Managing project tasks including project set-up, monitoring, and control. - Coordinating project engineering and design activities with teams in India and other COWI locations. - Assisting proposal managers in preparing technical proposals and time-inputs. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Master's in civil engineering/marine Structures from a reputed institute with 10-15 years of experience in Port & Harbour and Marine structures. - 3-5 years" experience as a project manager for multi-disciplinary marine projects. - Design experience in various marine structures like Jetties, Berths, Dolphins, bulk & container yards, and associated onshore facilities. - Proficiency in structural analysis software like STAAD Pro, Sofistik, ROBOT, FAGUS, etc. - Experience in Parametric design for structures will be an added advantage. - Strong problem-solving skills, eye for detail, and practical experience in steel member design. - Knowledge of related disciplines like geotechnical engineering, material handling, civil infrastructure, etc. - Familiarity with 3D BIM tools like Tekla Steel, Tekla RC, REVIT, CIVIL 3D, etc. - Proficient in working with International and Indian codes and standards. - Excellent communication skills in English for effective interaction with internal and external teams. Missions/Main Duties: As a Senior Engineer - Bridges, you will: Take responsibility for Rail/Road bridge design, Viaduct & Structure design . Utilize your experience in designing steel structures/complex bridges . Prepare reports and calculations in line with Network Rail standards. Lead a team of 4-5 Junior Engineers/Draftspersons. Plan and deliver bridge surveys and inspections , including recording all relevant information. Complete bridge assessment calculations and reporting . Manage project delivery, taking responsibility for budget and resource deployment on projects. Where required, take responsibility for project delivery to agreed budgets. Where required, prepare estimates for work items . Identify scope change items . Manage resources at a project level to ensure utilization and productivity are maintained. Ensure compliance with Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety, and adherence to company ISO Standards. Profile/Skills: Education: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) + Master of Technology in Structural Engineering. Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field. Software Proficiency: Experience with Sofistik, Midas, OpenBridge, and Oasys. Actively working towards professional qualification. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary design team. Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide support and mentoring to others. Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required.
