Social Studies Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Social Science Teacher to teach students in the Secondary Section. The ideal candidate should have strong subject expertise, effective classroom management skills, and the ability to create engaging, student-centric learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Instruction

• Teach History, Civics, Geography (as per ICSE curriculum) to Grades 6–10.
• Prepare structured lesson plans, presentations, and teaching materials.
• Use innovative teaching methods, including activity-based learning, discussions, and visual aids.
• Conduct class tests, assessments, and periodic examinations.

2. Classroom Management

• Maintain discipline and ensure an effective learning environment.
• Monitor student behaviour, participation, and academic progress.
• Provide additional support to students who require extra help.

3. Academic Responsibilities

• Prepare annual academic plans, question papers, and answer keys.
• Evaluate notebooks, projects, assignments, and maintain records.
• Ensure timely completion of syllabus as per academic timelines.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and improvements.

4. Student Development

• Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and real-life application of Social Science concepts.
• Motivate students to participate in activities like debates, quizzes, model-making, and group discussions.
• Guide students for board examination preparation.

5. Administrative & School Duties

• Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings (PTMs), and training sessions.
• Maintain student attendance and progress reports.
• Participate in school events, exhibitions, competitions, and assemblies.
• Follow school policies, code of conduct, and reporting procedures.

6. Professional Growth

• Keep updated with curriculum changes and educational trends.
• Participate in workshops, seminars, and teacher upskilling programs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Qualification: B.A/M.A in History/Geography/Political Science with B.Ed (mandatory).
• Experience: 2–5 years preferred in secondary teaching.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Strong subject knowledge and lesson planning abilities.
• Tech-savvy with ability to use smart boards, PPTs, and digital tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
