Social Science Teacher

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Social Science Teacher to instruct students in classes 6, 7, and 8. The ideal candidate will be passionate about history, geography, civics, and related social sciences, and skilled at making these subjects interesting and relevant to middle school students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver effective lessons in social science subjects including history, geography, civics, and economics in line with the school curriculum for classes 6, 7, and 8.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to make lessons engaging and accessible.
• Develop assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests to assess student understanding and progress.
• Encourage critical thinking, discussions, and active participation in the classroom.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a respectful learning environment.
• Provide feedback and extra help to students as needed to ensure academic success.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and meetings.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student performance and behavior.
• Stay informed about updates in social science education and teaching strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, History, Geography, Political Science, or a related field (MA, BA, BEd).
• Teaching certification or diploma preferred.
• Experience teaching social science subjects to middle school students (classes 6-8) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of social science topics relevant to the middle school curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring young learners.
• Familiarity with digital teaching tools and resources is a plus.
