Job Description

As a Snowflake Administrator / DBA, your role involves supporting analytics and BI infrastructure by managing the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. You will focus on ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient operations, particularly in the context of the SNOW App Replatforming project. Your responsibilities will include: - Provisioning and managing Snowflake accounts, databases, warehouses, and roles. - Implementing access control frameworks and managing integrations for security measures like SSO, MFA, and SCIM. - Enforcing driver upgrade policies and rotating Personal Access Tokens (PATs) and API keys regularly. - Maintaining compatibility across client applications and preparing the platform for new features. You will also be responsible for: - Monitoring and tuning query performance using various tools. - Configuring auto-suspend/resume for warehouses to optimize compute costs. - Applying data lifecycle and storage optimization strategies through monthly audits. - Tracking and reporting Snowflake Business Critical Requests (BCRs) for timely resolution. In terms of security and governance, you will: - Enforce multi-factor authentication and federated identity protocols. - Manage secure views, UDFs, and row/column-level security. - Maintain access history and audit logs for compliance purposes. - Monitor driver versions and enforce upgrades to maintain secure connectivity. Your operational support duties will involve: - Troubleshooting access issues and coordinating with IT security/helpdesk. - Maintaining documentation for provisioning workflows and platform changes. - Collaborating with Snowflake-certified partners for diagnostics and migrations. - Logging and following up on BCRs to ensure SLA adherence. Automation and monitoring are crucial aspects of your role, requiring you to: - Develop and maintain automation scripts, apps, and dashboards to monitor Snowflake environments. - Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines and observability platforms. - Review and update automation tools quarterly for performance and security compliance. Furthermore, you will engage in collaboration and stakeholder engagement by: - Partnering with data and analytics leadership to align Snowflake capabilities with business goals. - Collaborating with various teams to support ETL/ELT pipelines, schema evolution, and reporting needs. - Leading or supporting migrations to Snowflake from legacy systems and providing best practices. - Ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and thorough documentation of procedures. Preferred Skills & Experience: - 3+ years of Snowflake administration experience. - Familiarity with Sigma, MS Entra, Okta, and scripting languages like Python and Bash. - Strong understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and automation. - Experience with data migration planning and execution. - SnowPro Core Certification or equivalent training is preferred.,
