SMT Operator

As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining SMT machines and related equipment to assemble surface mount components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). Your role is crucial in ensuring high levels of productivity and quality within the electronics manufacturing process of an EMS environment. You will be tasked with operating various SMT machines including pick-and-place, solder paste printer, reflow oven, AOI, and SPI. Your responsibilities will also include loading and unloading feeders, components, and PCBs as needed, verifying machine setup according to work orders and engineering documentation, and conducting visual inspections of boards to identify defects or misalignments. Additionally, you will be expected to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of SMT equipment, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and assist the maintenance team when necessary. Accurate completion of production and quality-related paperwork, recording machine downtime and production issues, and participating in process improvement activities are also part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in an SMT or electronics assembly environment. Technical training in electronics is a plus. You must possess the ability to interpret assembly instructions, BOMs, and technical drawings, familiarity with SMT equipment such as Yamaha, Fuji, Panasonic, or Juki, good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and basic computer skills for machine programming and data entry.
