Role & responsibilities 1. Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of US tax professionals across multiple engagements. Provide continuous technical training, coaching, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that emphasizes accountability and client service excellence. Develop and implement department procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality. Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of tax staff and interns. 2. Tax Compliance & Review Review and oversee the preparation of federal and state tax returns, including: Form 1065 (Partnerships) Form 1120 (Corporations) Form 1120-S (S Corporations) Form 1040 (Individuals) Form 990 (Non-Profits) Manage preparation of tax accrual workpapers and ensure compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines. Handle complex tax issues such as consolidated returns, multi-state filings, and international tax considerations. Stay current on tax law changes and determine their impact on clients. 3. Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. Provide proactive tax advice aligned with clients business objectives. Ensure timely communication and resolution of client queries. Build long-term, trusted relationships through consistent delivery of high-quality, value-added services. 4. Quality Control & Technical Excellence Perform detailed reviews of tax returns, computations, and supporting documentation. Identify technical tax issues and coordinate with partners and specialists for resolution. Ensure adherence to firm standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct. Meet and exceed chargeable hour and delivery quality goals. 5. Business Contribution & Firm Growth Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the tax department. Support knowledge-sharing and firmwide learning activities. Participate in special projects, research assignments, and cross-functional engagements. Promote the firms reputation for excellence and client-centricity. Preferred candidate profile Education & Credentials Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting , Finance , or a related discipline. CPA qualification preferred (or currently pursuing). Experience 5 to 12 years of experience in public accounting , with a focus on US taxation . Minimum 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience leading tax teams. Proven track record of managing complex corporate and partnership tax engagements. Technical Expertise In-depth knowledge of US federal and state tax laws . Proficiency in Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1040, and 990 . Familiarity with GAAP and tax accrual accounting . Hands-on experience with GoSystem, CCH , or equivalent tax preparation software. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
