The Senior Binding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all binding operations to ensure timely production, high-quality output, and efficient use of resources. This role involves leading a team of junior supervisors and binding staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, optimizing workflows, and coordinating with cross-functional departments. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and Manage Binding Operations: Oversee all binding activities including folding, stitching, gluing, trimming, and finishing. Allocate tasks and manage shift schedules for junior supervisors and binding staff. Monitor production workflows and make adjustments to ensure deadlines and targets are met. Quality Control & Standards: Implement and uphold quality control procedures. Review finished products to ensure alignment with client specifications and internal standards. Analyze defect reports and lead corrective/preventive actions. Team Leadership and Training: Mentor, train, and evaluate junior supervisors and binding operators. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Equipment Oversight: Ensure optimal functioning of all binding machinery and finishing equipment. Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and urgent repairs. Approve and escalate major repair or replacement requirements. Material Management: Monitor usage and stock levels of binding materials and consumables. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure uninterrupted production. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive production reports, downtime logs, and quality metrics. Report performance updates and operational issues to production management. Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and waste reduction. Lead implementation of lean practices or 5S initiatives in the binding area. Requirement: Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology or related field. 5+ years of experience in binding operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
