Description
As a Site Supervisor for IT Networking (Active & Passive Infrastructure), your main role is to oversee day-to-day site operations for IT networking infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the proper execution of both active and passive components of network installations at client or project sites. Your expertise in structured cabling systems, on-site coordination, and contractor/vendor management will be crucial for the success of the projects. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise daily activities of contractors and installation teams on-site. - Ensure proper implementation of passive and active networking infrastructure as per design and BOQ. - Monitor the quality of installation, including structured cabling, racks, raceways, and patch panels. - Supervise the installation and configuration of network hardware such as Wi-Fi APs, switches, and routers. - Perform daily site walkthroughs to ensure work progress and compliance with safety and quality standards. Technical Oversight: - Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure field execution is as per design. - Provide on-site guidance for cable routing, labeling, testing, and termination processes. - Oversee testing and certification of cabling using tools like Fluke or equivalent. - Verify that rack dressing, patching, and labeling are done according to standards. Reporting & Documentation: - Maintain daily site logs, material consumption reports, and progress updates. - Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and escalate site issues when needed. - Assist in preparing and maintaining handover documents, test reports, and as-built drawings. Coordination & Communication: - Coordinate with client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors on-site. - Ensure timely delivery of materials and proper storage and handling on-site. - Ensure adherence to project timelines and provide early warnings on potential delays. Qualifications: - 2 to 5 years of site supervision experience in IT/networking infrastructure projects. - Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC). - Experience with the installation of active devices such as switches, routers, and wireless APs. - Familiarity with data center standards, grounding, and cable management practices. Key Skills & Requirements: - Strong leadership and team supervision skills. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOQ. - Good knowledge of network hardware installation practices. - Proficient in using tools for cable testing and certification. - High attention to detail and safety compliance. - Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word. - Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
