Site Reliability Engineer (Contract)

As a System Administrator with 5+ years of experience in system administration, application development, infrastructure development, or related areas, your role will involve hands-on design, analysis, development, and troubleshooting of highly-distributed large-scale production systems and event-driven, cloud-based services. You will primarily focus on Linux Administration, managing a fleet of Linux and Windows VMs as part of the application solutions. Your responsibilities will include advocating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices within Honeywell HCE, ensuring reliability, uptime, system security, cost, operations, capacity, and performance analysis. - Design, analyze, develop, and troubleshoot highly-distributed large-scale production systems and event-driven, cloud-based services - Manage a fleet of Linux and Windows VMs as part of the application solutions - Participate in Pull Requests for site reliability goals - Advocate IaC and CaC practices within Honeywell HCE - Own reliability, uptime, system security, cost, operations, capacity, and performance analysis - Monitor and report on service level objectives for given application services - Establish key service level indicators in collaboration with the business, Technology teams, and product owners - Ensure repeatability, traceability, and transparency of infrastructure automation - Support on-call rotations for operational duties not addressed with automation - Support healthy software development practices and comply with the chosen software development methodology - Create and maintain monitoring technologies and processes to improve visibility into applications" performance and business metrics - Partner with security engineers to develop plans and automation to respond to new risks and vulnerabilities aggressively and safely - Develop, communicate, collaborate, and monitor standard processes to promote the long-term health and sustainability of operational development tasks - 5+ years of experience in system administration, application development, infrastructure development, or related areas - 5+ years of experience with programming languages like Javascript, Python, PHP, Go, Java, or Ruby - 3+ years of experience in reading, understanding, and writing code - 3+ years of mastery in infrastructure automation technologies such as Terraform, Code Deploy, Puppet, Ansible, Chef - 3+ years of expertise in container/container-fleet-orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Openshift, AKS, EKS, Docker, Vagrant, etcd, zookeeper - 5+ years of cloud and container native Linux administration/build/management skills,
