Job Description: VMware, Windows, and Linux Administrator Responsibilities Develop, manage, and maintain software and infrastructure in both Linux and Windows environments . Install, configure, patch, and update Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat). Monitor system performance , troubleshoot issues, and optimize servers for maximum uptime and efficiency. Implement and manage security measures to protect systems against vulnerabilities and threats. Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, bonding, routing). Perform system backups and implement disaster recovery plans . Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and other automation tools. Provide technical support for Linux/Windows systems and related applications. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures . Configure and administer web servers (Apache, Nginx) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL). Manage Linux patching using YUM (configuration, troubleshooting, and package management). Troubleshoot Linux boot issues, GRUB configuration, storage, and filesystem management . Deploy and manage SMTP, DNS, and Proxy servers . Install, configure, patch, and maintain Windows Server OS (2016, 2019, 2022). Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and Security Policies . Manage on-premises datacenter operations including cabinet design, power, cooling, high-density racks, and cabling (fiber & copper). Work with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, shared resources). Monitor infrastructure using tools like Zabbix, Nagios, and Grafana . Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and changes . Functional knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP at least one is mandatory). Requirements Proven experience as a Linux/Windows Administrator or similar role. Strong knowledge of Linux OS (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat). Hands-on experience in VMware/KVM virtualization technologies . Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation. Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, firewalls). In-depth knowledge of Linux boot, GRUB, RPM, YUM, and bonding configurations . Strong understanding of Windows Server & Active Directory . Familiarity with cloud foundations (AWS/Azure/GCP). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills . Strong communication and interpersonal skills . Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, LPIC, or Microsoft certifications will be an advantage.
