Operations Managers are responsible for production planning & execution, all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for our GLCs (Growth & Logistics Centers). The ideal candidate will have deep experience in agricultural procurement, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement Strategy & Execution Develop and implement a cost-effective procurement strategy for seeds (wheat, maize, barley). Identify and evaluate potential seed suppliers, including local and national sources. Conduct market research to track price trends, availability, and emerging suppliers. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers to optimize costs. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of seeds to all locations. 2. Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with seed producers, traders, and wholesalers. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards. Develop alternative supplier networks to mitigate risks related to supply disruptions. 3. Quality Assurance & Compliance Establish and enforce strict quality control measures for seed procurement. Collaborate with internal teams to test and validate seed germination rates. Address any seed-related quality issues with suppliers and negotiate replacements/refunds. 4. Cost Optimization & Budgeting Track procurement costs and identify opportunities to reduce per-unit seed expenses.
