Key Responsibilities: 1. Transport Operations & Scheduling Plan and monitor daily transport routes for buses, vans, and other school vehicles. Prepare and maintain route maps, pick-up/drop-off timings, and driver/conductor allocations. Ensure punctual pick-up and drop-off of students and staff. 2. Vehicle Maintenance & Mechanical Oversight Conduct regular inspections of all school vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance. Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with authorized service providers. Maintain vehicle service, repair, and fuel usage records. Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime. 3. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all vehicles have valid permits, insurance, fitness certificates, and pollution control certificates. Maintain driver/conductor licenses and ensure timely renewals. Ensure adherence to RTO rules, safety regulations, and school policies. 4. Safety & Training Implement safety protocols for student boarding, travel, and alighting. Conduct periodic training for drivers and conductors on safety, discipline, and first aid. Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or complaints immediately. 5. Administrative & Coordination Duties Liaise with parents, school management, and local authorities regarding transport-related matters. Maintain accurate transport records, logs, and MIS reports for management review. Prepare budget requirements for fuel, repairs, and vehicle replacement. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline (Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in transport management, preferably in an educational institution. Proven mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenance. Strong administrative and record-keeping skills. Skills Required: Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
