Job Description

Role Overview:

end-to-end development

Key Responsibilities:

  1. New Product Development (NPD):

    • Lead the

      concept-to-production

      lifecycle for sheet metal components.
    • Evaluate

      technical feasibility

      of new designs and provide recommendations for manufacturability.
  2. Prototyping & Die Design:

    • Design and develop

      press tools, dies, and fixtures

      for sheet metal part manufacturing.
    • Supervise

      prototype development

      , testing, and iteration for design optimization.
    • Ensure

      tool and die designs

      are aligned with production capability and cost efficiency.
  3. Reverse Engineering & Process Design:

    • Execute

      reverse engineering

      of components for redesign or localization.
    • Develop

      manufacturing processes

      , including forming, punching, bending, welding, and assembly operations.
    • Ensure

      correct material selection

      and thickness for functional and structural requirements.
  4. Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination:

    • Work closely with

      tool rooms, vendors, and fabrication teams

      to ensure timely tool delivery.
    • Collaborate with

      design, quality, and production teams

      to resolve technical challenges.
  5. Quality & Compliance:

    • Define

      inspection criteria and quality plans

      for new sheet metal parts.
    • Ensure compliance with

      ISO/IATF

      standards and customer specifications.
  6. Project Management:

    • Prepare

      project timelines, cost estimates, and resource plans

      for new developments.
    • Track progress and implement corrective actions to meet launch targets.
  7. Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive

      cost reduction and efficiency initiatives

      in die design and sheet metal processes.
    • Keep abreast of

      latest technologies

      in sheet metal forming, dies, and prototyping.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in

    sheet metal component development & tool design

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    press tools, progressive dies, and sheet metal forming

    .
  • Proficiency in

    CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD)

    .
  • Experience in

    reverse engineering and rapid prototyping

    .
  • Hands-on experience in

    project management and vendor development

    .
