Service Virtualization Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Virtualization Engineer to join our quality assurance and DevOps team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Broadcom DevTest (formerly CA LISA) to design, develop, and implement virtualized services that eliminate dependencies and accelerate the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to ensure that critical testing activities are not blocked by unavailable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build virtual services: Create, deploy, and maintain virtual service models (VSMs) and virtual service images (VSIs) using Broadcom DevTest.
• Identify virtualization opportunities: Collaborate with architects and development teams to analyze system dependencies and identify suitable candidates for service virtualization.
• Support various protocols: Virtualize services across a wide range of protocols, including REST, SOAP, HTTP/S, JMS, and MQ.
• Integrate with CI/CD pipelines: Develop and optimize continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to integrate service virtualization, enhancing test automation efforts.
• Enable shift-left testing: Promote and enable early-stage (shift-left) testing by providing virtual services that allow development and QA teams to test in parallel, reducing overall cycle time.
• Troubleshoot and support: Provide expert support to development and testing teams for complex virtual service issues and overall environment stability.
• Document and mentor: Create documentation for virtualization processes and train team members on best practices for using Broadcom DevTest.
• Use diverse approaches: Employ various methods for creating virtual services, including recording live traffic, using request/response pairs, and leveraging WSDLs.
• Report metrics: Define and report metrics on the usage and effectiveness of virtualized assets to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT with significant focus on Service Virtualization using CA DevTest (formerly iTKO LISA).
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying virtual services for different testing types (functional, integration, performance).
• Strong conceptual knowledge of service virtualization and its various use cases.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript or Groovy.
• Experience with API testing tools like ReadyAPI/SoapUI or Postman.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in an Agile/DevOps environment.
