Server System Administrator

You are sought to join the IT operations team in Mumbai as a Server System Administrator with 13 years of hands-on experience in system administration and expertise in VMware virtualization technologies. Your role will entail managing virtual infrastructure, providing L1/L2 technical support, and ensuring smooth operation of server and network systems. If you possess a problem-solving mindset, hands-on experience with VMware tools, and are enthusiastic about working in a dynamic technology environment, your application is welcome. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and manage daily health checks for servers, network devices, and storage systems. - Provide L1 and L2 technical support by resolving user access issues, enhancing system performance, and configuring basic settings. - Administer and troubleshoot VMware environments including virtual machines, ESXi hosts, and vCenter. - Configure and maintain VXL devices and Thin Clients in various departments. - Assist in the management of Cisco switches and routers, including setup and basic troubleshooting. - Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve complex system/network issues. - Ensure comprehensive documentation of incidents, solutions, and system configurations. - Participate in routine backups, patch management, and disaster recovery drills. **Desired Skills & Experience:** - 13 years of experience in IT support or system administration. - Proficiency in virtualization, particularly with VMware products. - Certification in VMware VCA/VCP or Cisco CCNA (SimpliVity/Nutanix), Exposure to ITIL practices. - Familiarity with Thin Client infrastructure and VXL systems. - Working knowledge of Cisco hardware and basic networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, etc.). - Comfortable with Windows Server environments and basic Active Directory functions. - Strong troubleshooting skills and effective communication abilities. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Certifications such as VMware VCA/VCP or Cisco CCNA are highly desirable. - Exposure to ITIL practices is a plus.
