Senior/Staff Data Engineer

As a highly skilled engineer with experience in fintech, you have the opportunity to join Agoda, an online travel booking platform that is part of Booking Holdings. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks related to platforms and data pipelines in the fintech domain. Your key responsibilities will include: - Thinking and owning the full life cycle of products, from business requirements to proper monitoring - Designing, developing, and maintaining platforms and data pipelines across fintech - Improving scalability, stability, and efficiency of existing systems - Writing great code, mentoring team members, and collaborating with other teams - Assisting in hiring extraordinary talent To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications: - Minimum 7 years of experience developing performance-critical applications in Scala, Java, C#, or Kotlin - Experience with data tooling such as Spark, Kafka, and Workflow Orchestration Tools - Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases - Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines and architectures - Ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data - Experience with Scrum in Agile Cross-functional teams - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills It would be great if you also have: - Deep experience with spark-based distributed data pipelines and Spark streaming - Strong experience in building finance stack applications - Experience in financial data risk management and data governance projects - Experience with data profiling, data lineage, and data cataloging - Experience in leading projects, initiatives, and/or teams Agoda is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and your application will be kept on file for future vacancies.
