Senior WordPress Developer

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior WordPress & Shopify Developer with over 7 years of hands-on development experience. You should be proficient in building custom WordPress solutions using the Roots.io ecosystem, specifically Sage & Bedrock, and possess a strong background in Shopify theme customization and app integration. Your role will involve working with modern development tools to create custom WordPress themes and plugins, as well as scalable Shopify storefronts. Key Responsibilities: - Develop custom WordPress themes utilizing Sage and Blade templating. - Set up and maintain secure, scalable WordPress installations with Bedrock. - Create and manage custom WordPress plugins to enhance functionality. - Design, develop, and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML/CSS, and modern JS. - Integrate third-party Shopify apps and APIs, and develop custom apps if needed. - Ensure optimization and performance across different platforms. - Utilize Git for version control and collaborate within a team-based workflow. - Implement modern frontend workflows such as SCSS, ES6+, Laravel Mix/Webpack, and Tailwind. - Optimize websites for SEO, performance, and security. - Establish and manage staging/production environments and deployment workflows like Trellis, CI/CD. - Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers. Required Skills: - Over 10 years of professional experience with WordPress and PHP. - Expertise in Roots.io stack, particularly Sage and Bedrock (mandatory). - Strong background in custom WordPress theme and plugin development. - At least 3 years of hands-on Shopify development experience including themes, Liquid, and APIs. - Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), SCSS, and frontend tooling. - Familiarity with Blade templating, Composer, and Laravel-style architecture. - Deep understanding of WordPress core, REST API, CPTs, hooks, and filters. - Experience with Git and collaborative workflows. - Experience working with headless CMS or integrating APIs across platforms. - Solid knowledge of site optimization, performance, and security. This is a full-time position with benefits such as a flexible schedule, provided food, and paid time off. The work schedule is day shift, Monday to Friday, with morning shifts.
