Senior Technology Engineer Compute (Linux)

As a Senior Technology Engineer - Compute (Linux) at our company, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of innovative compute solutions. You will play a crucial role in driving the engineering function for the technologies you are accountable for. Your primary focus will be on Design, Development, Implementation, Standardization, Automation, and Capacity Planning. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Standardization and Automation:** Develop a standardized stack of infrastructure products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. Automate deployments to achieve zero-touch provisioning. - **Strategic Roadmap:** Define and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and backlogs using Agile methodologies. - **Cost Optimization:** Lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through process automation, innovative solutions, and the adoption of open-source technologies. - **Operational Stability:** Enhance the stability and resilience of infrastructure by addressing audit and risk items and troubleshooting issues effectively. - **Collaboration:** Work closely with architecture, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with organizational standards. **Qualifications Required:** - **Certifications (Preferred):** Red Hat Certified Architect. - **Experience:** Minimum 10 years in technical roles within large organizations. Hands-on experience in automation and DevOps/SRE practices. **Technical Expertise (Essential):** - **Linux Internals:** Expert knowledge in RHEL/Ubuntu systems. - **Scripting:** Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Groovy. - **IaC and Orchestration Tools:** Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. - **DevOps Principles:** Strong understanding of SRE, IaC, 12-factor principles, and GITOPS-driven management. - **Repository Management:** Expertise with Red Hat Satellite, Nexus, and similar tools. - **Containerization:** Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. - **Infrastructure Concepts:** Knowledge of DNS, SSL communication, Active Directory, certificates, and firewalls. - **API Communication:** Proficient in REST/SOAP API integration. - **Operational Excellence:** Adept at troubleshooting and implementing solutions for high availability and stability. **Preferred Skills:** - **Virtualization:** Familiarity with KVM, OpenStack, VMware, or similar technologies. - **Software-Defined Storage:** Knowledge of Ceph and GlusterFS. - **ELK Stack:** Understanding of Auditbeat and Filebeat. - **OS Compliance:** Familiarity with CIS Benchmark. - **Agile Practices:** Proficient in Agile ceremonies and methodologies. - **Banking Industry Experience:** Background in financial sector projects is a plus.
