Job Description

Role Overview: You will be a part of the Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group, which is dedicated to developing products for the networking industry. The team focuses on leveraging open-source technologies to build large-scale distributed systems and optimize hardware-software interactions. Your role will involve software development, system design, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the success of SONiC solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Understand the design and deployment of SONiC, automate and validate solutions end to end - Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure optimal hardware-software interactions - Work on system design to validate and benchmark SONiC solutions - Collaborate with product management and customers to gather requirements and align deliverables with business objectives - Help in the evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to accelerate development and testing cycles - Identify issues in a timely manner and ensure the quality of deliverables Qualifications Required: - Minimum 10 years of software development and automation experience, preferably in product companies with exposure to distributed architecture - Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with virtualization and container technologies - Experience with networking technologies such as L2, L3, VLAN, BGP, QoS, etc. - Experience in designing, modeling, and performance testing, working with opensource tools and databases - Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and a hunger to learn new technologies - Good team player with strong communication and presentation skills Additional Company Details: Cisco aims to create an inclusive future where every individual's unique skills and perspectives contribute to the company's purpose.
