Your Impact As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will manage a group of engineers, technical leads and collaborate extensively with other engineering managers across geography. You will be involved with a fast-paced work environment and responsible for end-to-end product development and production support. The SONiC team in DSE is looking for awesome talented leaders to build the Next Generation NOS, SONiC, for Datacenter Enterprise customers and Service Providers. In this role you will: Manage at least 5-8 full time employees responsible to design and develop high quality networking products. Lead and own the development, and deployment of software solutions leveraging SONiC to interface with hardware infrastructure and platform-level components. Own delivery milestone and quality metrics. Collaborate with hardware teams to enable optimal hardware-software interactions and expose hardware capabilities through SONiC interfaces. Actively participate in the system architecture and design discussions. Coordinate cross-functional activities between software, hardware, QA, and systems integration teams. Collaborate with product management and customers to understand use cases, gather requirements, and align deliverables with business objectives. Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to accelerate development and testing cycles. Act as a key liaison with open-source SONiC communities, contributing to upstream development and leveraging community innovations. Minimum Qualifications Around 18-20 years of work experience with minimum 5 years of hands on management experience. You have managed at least 5-8 full time employees.Good in hiring and retaining top talents across grades. You are an experienced leader with a successful track record of leading product teams responsible to design and develop high quality networking products. Involved in performance evaluation, salary planning, budgeting and forecasting. Experience with platform infrastructure such as ASIC drivers, NPU, BMC, Optics and network OS development.Experience working with virtualization, containerization, and orchestration frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes and/or similar Experience leading teams or technical projects in a complex development environment. Extensive software development experience with Linux based platforms or other like network operating systems such as SONiC. Enjoy leading fast paced, high performance agile development teams. You like leading the team from the front, identify team strengths, build in-house talent and competencies. Quick learner, self motivated. Proponent of innovation and process improvements in the team with a focus on improving team productivity.Excellent written and verbal communications and negotiation skill. Preferred Qualifications Experience in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks Experience with platform level security requirements and compliance frameworks Exposure to SONiC or experience working with the SONiC open-source community Knowledge of hardware abstraction layers and SDKs from major networking silicon providers (such as Broadcom, Marvell, Mellanox etc)

Role & responsibilities The successful candidate will lead the development of Layer 2/3 Data Networking technologies,Kernel, BSP/Driver related work and will have the following responsibilities: • Architect, design and implement Layer 2 Data Networking technologies • Work on kernel and driver level functionality • Participate and lead various architectural and design discussions; write design documents andbriefs Preferred candidate profile : • In-depth understanding ofswitching/routing concepts and ethernet technologies • Thorough knowledge of STP/TCP/IP/UDP protocols and data networking fundamentals • Strong Linux BSP, device drivers, operating systems and kernel internals knowledge • Familiarity with kernel debugging, performance analysis and optimization • Excellent programming skillsin C • Experience in Shell, Python, Expect scripting • Design, implement and troubleshoot switching software • Broad knowledge of Linux and GNU/Linux tools (gcc, make, autoconf, etc.) • Experience with integrating open-source packages in the system • Curious and willing to learn and challenge the status quo • Project task estimation & planning skills a plus • 10+ years of relevant industry experience

Who You Will Work With Youll collaborate closely with software developers, working side by side to ensure robust and high-quality product releases. Youll engage with field-facing teams to understand customer deployments and feedback, representing customer use-cases directly to engineering teams. As a test expert, youll also work with networking experts to validate platform integration, scalability, and performance. Additionally, you will interact with product managers and technical documentation teams to align testing efforts with real-world application and market needs. What Youll Do Use every means possible to find the bugs in the software and/or hardware being developed by your team. Write test plans to validate Arista features and products. Design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability and scalability of features and products. Execute test plans to verify all aspects of the product. Identify defects and validate resolution. Work as an agile member of a combined development and test team, running in short cycles to develop functional software in quick iterations. Work with the developers in creating their plans for automated tests to complement the exploratory testing that you perform. Be the testing expert for your team. Participate in functional specification and software design reviews held by the development team and provide customer centric input. Qualifications: BS CS/CE/EE plus 3+ years of experience in networking. MS degree preferred A minimum of one year of hands-on experience testing SONiC is a must (manual testing experience strongly desired). Strong working knowledge of SONiC architecture - SAI, FRR open routing stack (formerly Quagga, Zebra), Redis-DB, docker and minigraph Hands on experience with Linux operating system and its associated technologies (e.g. Virtualization, Kubernetes & more) Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/ SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, Platform validation, HA, QOS, network management. Knowledge of forwarding ASICs, FPGAs and network processors highly desired Proven expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans. Experience with IXIA and/or Spirent test tools desired Familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages desired Strong communication skills. ACE/CCIE/JNCIE certifications are a plus.
