Senior Staff Software Engineer

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Zscaler, you will play a crucial role in developing and sustaining efficient services, APIs, and workflows as part of the Product Management team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Product Business Operations, your responsibilities will include: - Developing and sustaining efficient services, APIs, and workflows (Backend Development) - Architecting scalable solutions leveraging microservices, concurrency, and distributed systems (System Design) - Crafting, optimizing, and administering schemas for relational and non-relational databases (Data Layer) - Creating connectors and APIs to integrate with enterprise systems like Jira, Okta, and Snowflake (Integrations) - Overseeing deployments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and scaling (Cloud & DevOps) **Qualifications Required:** - 8+ years of backend development experience with expertise in Java (Spring Boot), Python (Fast API, Django, Flask), Node.js (Express, Nest JS), and Go (g RPC/REST) - Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design - Proficient in working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis - Skilled in messaging and streaming systems like Kafka or AWS SQS - Experienced in deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes **Preferred Qualifications:** - Proficient in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry - Experienced in developing internal platforms and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability Zscaler values diversity and inclusivity, aiming to build a team that reflects the communities served and customers worked with.
