Senior Staff Software Engineer

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Zscaler, you will play a crucial role in the Product Management team by developing and sustaining efficient services, APIs, and workflows through backend development. Your responsibilities will include architecting scalable solutions using microservices, concurrency, and distributed systems, crafting and optimizing schemas for databases, creating connectors and APIs for enterprise systems integration, and overseeing deployments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and scaling in the cloud and DevOps environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Developing and sustaining efficient services, APIs, and workflows (Backend Development) - Architecting scalable solutions leveraging microservices, concurrency, and distributed systems (System Design) - Crafting, optimizing, and administering schemas for relational and non-relational databases (Data Layer) - Creating connectors and APIs to integrate with enterprise systems like Jira, Okta, and Snowflake (Integrations) - Overseeing deployments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and scaling (Cloud & DevOps) **Qualifications Required:** - 8+ years of backend development experience with expertise in Java (Spring Boot), Python (Fast API, Django, Flask), Node.js (Express, Nest JS), and Go (g RPC/REST) - Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design - Proficient in working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis - Skilled in messaging and streaming systems like Kafka or AWS SQS - Experienced in deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes **Additional Details:** Zscaler, a cloud security leader, is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive culture for its employees.
