Asthma: Assessing and managing asthma in children, including monitoring symptoms, prescribing appropriate medications, and educating patients and their families about asthma management techniques.
Cystic Fibrosis: Diagnosing and managing this genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. You may help develop personalized treatment plans, including medications, airway clearance techniques, and nutritional support.
Chronic cough: Investigating and treating persistent coughs in children, which may be caused by conditions such as upper airway cough syndrome, asthma, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Respiratory infections: Evaluating and managing respiratory infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and bronchiolitis. This includes assessing disease severity, determining appropriate treatment options, and monitoring progress.
Sleep-disordered breathing: Diagnosing and treating sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea, in children. You may work with sleep specialists to conduct sleep studies and recommend appropriate interventions.
Congenital lung anomalies: Providing specialized care for children born with congenital abnormalities of the respiratory system, such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia or tracheoesophageal fistula.
Pulmonary function testing: Conducting and interpreting lung function tests to assess respiratory function and monitor disease progression. These tests may include spirometry, lung volume measurements, and diffusion capacity tests.
