Role Overview

Azure API Management (APIM) Engineer

The role involves designing, developing, and managing API integrations, modernizing legacy API platforms, and implementing CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient API deployment and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

TIBCO to Azure APIM Migration

• Analyze existing TIBCO APIs (BusinessWorks, Mashery, or TIBCO API Exchange).
  
• Design and execute migration strategy to Azure API Management.
  
• Rebuild/refactor APIs for APIM compatibility.
  
• Implement Azure Policies (security, throttling, caching, logging).
  

Azure API Management

• Configure API gateways, products, subscriptions, and versioning.
  
• Implement security with OAuth 2.0, JWT, Azure AD, and mutual TLS.
  
• Monitor API health & performance via Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  

DevOps Automation

• Build & maintain CI/CD pipelines for APIM deployments (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions).
  
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
  
• Automate API versioning, documentation, and deployment workflows.
  

Integration & Collaboration

• Partner with backend service teams to optimize & secure APIs.
  
• Work with architects, developers, and QA for end-to-end delivery.
  
• Maintain API documentation using Swagger / OpenAPI specs.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• 5+ years in API development & management.
  
• Strong expertise in

  Azure API Management

  .
• Hands-on

  TIBCO API migration to Azure APIM

  experience.
• Azure services knowledge: Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, Service Bus, Event Grid.
  
• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
  
• Proficiency in REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OpenAPI.
  
• DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.
  
• IaC experience: ARM, Bicep, Terraform.
