Senior Software Engineer - Java Springboot

Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will meaningfully contribute to a software development team. This team is responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle. The lifecycle includes development, and testing activities. These activities are for industry-leading commercial software, known for its innovation and usability. In particular, the software features real-time scalable solutions based on Rockwells Manufacturing Execution System (MES). These solutions are often integrated with machine automation and control systems, as well as ERP software.

You will be responsible for active participation in requirements development, leading architectural design, coding, and testing in all stages of the software development lifecycle.

You must collaborate with multiple global teams and require you to work in the large project teams.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and document code, according to the development process, that satisfies the software design.
• Develop unit test plans. Report, debug, and correct anomalies. Integrate with other components, solving problems across subsystems and products, to produce a final product.
• Participate in reviews of documents, design, code, test cases and user documentation.
• Provide work estimates and status report. Maintain interaction to ensure assigned tasks are prioritised.
• Support PI planning by working with Team Lead (Scrum Master)
• Responsible for Sprint Planning including breakdown of user stories into smaller tasks that can be estimated in hours
• Partner with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communication, honesty, and respect.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• 6 years of experience in new product development of software or software systems including background with large-scale enterprise system development projects using Java
• 2 Years of experience in review process (design review, code review).
• Experience in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, and UI, web development with Java Swing clients and web technologies ( JavaScript, Angular).
• Experience with modern software delivery practices like rapid prototyping, CI/CD, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), virtualization and multiple test strategies like TDD / BDD

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Hands-on expert with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented designs in Java.
• In-depth understanding of multiple design patterns for enterprise applications
• Experience with Backend technologies and UX technologies
• Experience with Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Database design and programming skills in SQL Server and Oracle.
• Familiarity with common development tools like Eclipse, SVN, GitLab, JUnit, JIRA, Jenkins, ANT and Maven
• Experience with manufacturing domain, especially with life sciences, pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with security, data communication, and contemporary user interface technologies in enterprise environment.
• Experience working in SAFe methodology
