As a Senior Software Engineer in Test I at SurveyMonkey, you will be a key contributor responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust testing strategies that guarantee high-performance, accessible, and engaging user experiences. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining user-friendly, scalable, and maintainable applications while fostering innovation and efficiency within the organization. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites for web applications and backend services. You will also be involved in performing manual and exploratory testing to ensure high-quality software releases. Collaboration with developers, product managers, and designers to identify test requirements and enhance overall product quality will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will investigate, document, and track bugs and failures to ensure their proper resolution, while defining and implementing quality metrics to measure test effectiveness and product reliability. To excel in this role, we are looking for individuals with 5+ years of professional software testing experience, with a strong focus on automation. You should have experience in testing highly scalable web applications and services, proficiency with JavaScript-based web automation tools, a strong understanding of Web, HTTP, and API design, and hands-on experience with version control systems like Git. Your solid knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, Agile testing practices, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines will be crucial in driving continuous improvements in test automation and quality assurance best practices. It is essential that you have experience working in an Agile development environment and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment and have a passion for driving continuous improvements in software quality through test automation and quality assurance practices.
