Senior Software Engineer GIS R&D

As the primary technical resource and technical contact for Software Architect and Project Manager, you will participate in providing feedback on design and architectural choices, considering their impact on cost and schedules. You will effectively communicate requirements and design to the development team, ensuring clarity. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing Code, Unit, and Integration Test plans to meet quality, functional, and performance requirements. Additionally, you will review and analyze performance test data to identify application bottlenecks and apply your knowledge of current tools and technologies to problem-solving. As a mentor to the development team, you will identify areas where team members may need additional training. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a technical resource for Software Architect and Project Manager - Provide feedback on design and architectural choices - Communicate requirements and design clearly to the development team - Review Code, Unit, and Integration Test plans - Analyze performance test data to identify application bottlenecks - Apply knowledge of current tools and technologies - Mentor development team members and identify areas for additional training Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics, or related field - Minimum 5 years of directly related work experience - Proficiency in .NET Framework with C# / ASP.NET - Experience with GIS Technologies including Geocoding, Routing, and Mapping - Familiarity with Web Services - Strong skills in Windows Application Development - Exposure to Web Application Development - Experience with Unit Test Automation (NUnit, Mock Frameworks) - Proficient in Visual Studio 2005 / 2008 - Knowledge of at least one RDBMS - SQL 2000/2005, Oracle 10g, Sybase ASA 9.0 - Familiarity with UML Modeling tools (Rational / Visio) Desirable Knowledge: - Web Forms development - Exposure to SaaS development - .NET Interop with COM components - Asset / Infrastructure Management systems (Note: No additional company details were provided in the job description),
