Job Description

As a development lead at Uber, your role involves managing a team of three Marketplace Security developers while also contributing to the design, building, and scaling of systems to ensure the safety of Uber's global community. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining full-stack applications, managing essential databases and real-time services, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to integrate security requirements into Uber's marketplace configuration platform. Your work will directly support Uber's mission to protect drivers, riders, and delivery partners, enhancing the safety and integrity of millions of marketplace interactions daily. Key Responsibilities: - Engage in full-stack development for front-end and back-end Uber systems to meet Marketplace Security needs. - Lead and manage a team of three Marketplace Security developers, facilitating their hiring along with this position. - Collaborate with engineering teams throughout Uber to introduce new Marketplace Security features. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on web development. - Demonstrated proficiency in building and scaling complex web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS. - Strong software design and coding abilities with a focus on maintainability and scalability. - Keen attention to product design and a dedication to delivering exceptional user experiences. - Proven track record of driving complex projects from concept through launch and continuous iteration. - Excellent problem-solving skills, architectural understanding, and algorithmic thinking. - Deep commitment to code quality, reliability, and performance. - Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective partnerships across all levels within the organization - from engineers to senior leadership.
