Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Workday Financials Integration at BlackLine, you will be instrumental in the development of the next-generation BlackLine application and data platform, focusing on ERP data integration components. Your responsibilities will revolve around designing, developing, troubleshooting, maintaining, optimizing, and scaling cloud-based BlackLine connectors, services, and frameworks. This includes working with ERP integration, Odata services, REST, SOAP, Event Bus, API Gateway, Job Scheduler, Identity Management, Search, Workflow Orchestration, and Data Integration to drive innovation into the product suite. Your key duties and responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, optimizing, and maintaining highly scalable and secure distributed backend services while ensuring adherence to requirements, coding standards, and quality benchmarks. You will contribute to project planning by identifying cross-team dependencies, estimating efforts, and actively participating in architecture and design discussions for complex problems. Moreover, you will be expected to research, test, and evaluate new tools and technologies, recommending their implementation in product development. Your role will involve maintaining high standards of software quality, technical excellence, and establishing best practices to deliver features that meet integration, performance, security, and maintainability expectations. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or improvement opportunities and driving necessary changes. To qualify for this role, you should possess at least 5 years of experience in software development, data integrations, low-code/no-code integration platforms, RESTful APIs, SOAP, and microservices. A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. Moreover, you should demonstrate expertise in Workday financial technical aspects, administration, and integration, along with experience in integrating third-party applications with Workday using Workday's public API, and familiarity with Workday Query Language and Reports. Key skills and abilities for this role include a solid foundation in computer science principles, expertise in ERP data integration and API integrations, experience with low-code/no-code Integration Platforms or ETL tools, superior analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in internet security issues in software design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptability, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for engineering excellence through automation and process improvements are also crucial. Preferred qualifications include Workday financials certification, exposure to third-party Integration Platforms, Ruby on Rails development knowledge, familiarity with Unix or Linux environments, experience with Angular development, JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency, and exposure to public cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native services.
