Senior Software Development Engineer - Java & Python (AWS & Datacenter Experience)

The Hitachi Vantara Ecosystem and Software Engineering Team is dedicated to developing next-generation automation and orchestration platforms to simplify IT management across different environments. As a Senior Backend Engineer on the API and Orchestration Services team, your role will involve designing, building, and maintaining backend APIs and services that power the intelligence layer of Hitachi IQ. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs using Java and Python, building orchestration services for managing compute, storage infrastructure, supporting platform capabilities for multi-tenancy, RBAC, and lifecycle automation, contributing to release cycles, resolving performance bottlenecks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless integration. To excel in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field, 5-10 years of hands-on software development experience, proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and strong experience with Python, and familiarity with infrastructure-aware applications for both AWS cloud and on-premises datacenters. Hands-on experience with CI/CD, REST APIs, and API security practices, as well as clear understanding of design principles and object-oriented programming are essential. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of hardware platforms, experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues, and an understanding of enterprise compliance frameworks and operational monitoring.
