Team Overview We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our application team. Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimise scalable, high-performance software applications for EquiLend Spire using Java and Spring Boot. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the EquiLend Spire platform. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to support seamless integration with other systems and platforms. Implement best practices for software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines. Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and technical issues. Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks, assessing their potential for enhancing the EquiLend Spire platform. Act as a subject matter expert on EquiLend Spires technical architecture and provide guidance on strategic technology decisions. Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and support teams, to ensure successful project delivery. Required Skills 4+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong focus on building scalable applications using Spring Boot. Expertise in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures, including RESTful API development and integration. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Proficiency with build tools like Maven or Gradle and testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito. Hands-on experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like Angular or React. Knowledge of database systems, including proficiency in SQL and experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
