Senior Software Development Engineer - Advertising Technology

Role Overview: Expedia Group is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Advertising Technology team. As a part of this team, you will propose, design, and implement various initiatives to spearhead advertising products and services across multiple Expedia brands. Your role will involve leading and actively participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, providing technical guidance to peers, collaborating with leaders to architect robust applications, and maintaining and improving solutions and systems with a focus on service excellence. You will work with technologies such as Java, Scala, Dropwizard, Spring, Node.js, React, GraphQL, Docker, Kafka, Cassandra, MongoDB, Hadoop, Qubole, Spark, DataDog, Splunk, and AWS cloud. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle to tackle sophisticated business problems - Deconstruct large problems into manageable breakthroughs driving streamlined execution - Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers and junior engineers - Collaborate with leaders to architect and build robust applications and choose relevant technologies - Maintain, monitor, and improve solutions and systems focusing on service excellence Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience - 8+ years of professional software development experience in an object-oriented language - Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures - Experience building on cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) with sound architectural patterns - Self-starter with innovative mindset and ability to own solutions end to end - Strong communication skills and effective collaborator - Experience applying AI to technology solutions and working with Data Scientists - Experience with ML, deep learning, TensorFlow, Python, NLP Please note that Expedia Group is committed to fostering an open culture where everyone belongs, differences are celebrated, and success is shared among all members of the community.
