Description
As a Senior Site Developer at our company, your primary responsibility will be to lead a large-scale migration project from Contentful to WordPress. You will be in charge of handling over 5,000 articles and associated media assets to ensure a seamless migration with zero downtime and strong SEO preservation. - Migration & Development: - Design and implement a robust migration plan for 5,000+ articles & media assets from Contentful to WordPress. - Configure CPTs, ACF, templates in WordPress to match existing layouts. - Write custom scripts/tools for bulk migration & automation using Node.js/PHP/Python. - Build scalable, SEO-friendly WordPress themes with improved performance. - Quality Assurance & Launch: - Coordinate content freezes & delta migrations. - Perform QA across URLs, templates, redirects, and site functionality. - Execute 301 redirects & validate SEO preservation. - Manage DNS switchover ensuring zero downtime. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work with SEO/analytics teams to maintain taxonomy & search traffic. - Communicate risks & trade-offs to technical/non-technical stakeholders. - Provide post-launch support, monitoring, and optimization. Qualifications: - Required: - 8+ years of professional web development with a strong focus on WordPress engineering. - Led at least one full-scale migration from Contentful (or similar CMS) to WordPress. - Expertise in PHP, JavaScript (React/Next.js), HTML5, CSS3, and WordPress APIs. - Strong experience with ACF, CPTs, custom theme development, and migration scripting. - Solid knowledge of SEO best practices & performance optimization. - Familiarity with Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and cloud platforms like AWS/GCP/WP Engine. - Preferred: - Experience with large-scale sites containing 5,000+ URLs. - Knowledge of Contentful APIs & data models. - Prior work experience in agile setups with PM/QA teams. - Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and thrives under tight deadlines.
