Role Overview
Senior Scientist (Systems Biology)
The ideal candidate is domain-flexible, methodologically strong, and capable of guiding an interdisciplinary team while delivering scientific rigor and actionable insights for both internal platform development and external R&D projects.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Biology & In-Silico Modeling
- Develop and refine multi-scale, constraint-based, and mechanistic models for human physiology (metabolic, immune, cognitive, skin, gut, or other relevant domains).
- Integrate omics (metabolomics, genomics, transcriptomics, microbiome), clinical markers, and literature-curated mechanisms into unified computational frameworks.
- Derive mechanistic hypotheses and translational insights for nutraceutical, functional food, and wellness R&D projects.
Cross-Domain Research & Flexibility
Adapt systems-biology approaches to diverse health contexts:
- Metabolic health & energy pathways
- Immune & inflammation processes
- Gutmicrobiome interactions
- Cognitive development & neuro-metabolic links
- Skin-health & barrier physiology
- Women's health & child nutrition
- Aging systems biology
- Rapidly learn new domains and translate biological knowledge into computational form.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead a multi-disciplinary scientific team, ensuring reproducibility, documentation, and delivery quality.
- Work closely with mathematical modeler, physiologists, nutrition & clinical scientists teams.
- Contribute to building the domain specific ?meX knowledge graph, physiological ontologies, and multi-domain modeling pipelines for scalable MetSolve offerings.
Scientific Communication & Delivery
- Prepare high-quality scientific reports, client presentations, white papers, and publication-ready material.
- Support proposal development, grant applications, and strategic collaborations
Qualifications & Experience
PhD/Post-Doctorate
in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Quantitative Physiology, Bioengineering, or related domain.5-8 years
of experience in systems-biology modeling, multi-scale data integration, or computational physiology.Proven expertise in:
Multi-organ or multi-pathway physiological modeling, Hostmicrobiome interaction modeling, Mechanistic or kinetic models (QSP preferred but not mandatory)- Strong proficiency in
MATLAB / Python
, with ability to design end-to-end modeling workflows. - Ability to mentor junior researchers and lead multi-domain scientific workstreams.
- Strong writing, documentation, and scientific interpretation skills.
