Job Description

Job Summary:

The Haematologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with blood-related disorders, ensuring accurate laboratory interpretation, clinical consultation, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and manage hematological disorders including anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, coagulation disorders, and hemoglobinopathies.
Interpret hematology laboratory investigations such as CBC, peripheral smear, bone marrow examination, and coagulation profiles.
Provide clinical consultation to physicians and surgeons regarding hematological conditions.
Perform and supervise procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and biopsy.
Ensure quality control and compliance with laboratory standards (NABL/ISO, where applicable).
Guide and supervise laboratory staff, residents, and technicians.
Maintain accurate medical records and reports.
Participate in clinical audits, CME programs, and academic activities.
Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

MD/DNB in Haematology or MD Pathology with DM/Fellowship in Haematology
MD family medicen
Valid medical council registration.
Relevant post-qualification clinical/laboratory experience preferred.

Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interdepartmental coordination.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality care.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
