Senior R&D Engineer - High Voltage DC(HVDC) Valve Electrical

As a member of the Technology and Solutions Development team at Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC), you will be involved in the research and development of HVDC applications. With a focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products, and technology, IDC plays a crucial role in advancing the field of power transmission. Located in Chennai and Bangalore, IDC collaborates with Hitachi Energy's R&D and Research centers worldwide to drive innovation in the industry. Your primary responsibilities will include performing calculations and simulations to assess stress on various electrical components utilized in the product development process. Additionally, you will be tasked with writing Requirement Specifications for the components, collaborating with suppliers to identify suitable components that meet the requirements, and working closely with other departments such as Mechanical designers to integrate the components effectively. Moreover, you will be responsible for drafting Test Specifications, conducting tests in coordination with the Test department or third-party facilities, analyzing test results, and preparing detailed Test Reports. To excel in this role, you are expected to hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field, along with 5-8 years of experience in similar industries, particularly in power electronics. Proficiency in VSC system design and application is essential, and knowledge of electrical field and creepage is highly beneficial.
