As a member of the Technology and Solutions Development team at Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC), you will be involved in the research and development of HVDC applications. Your primary responsibilities will include performing calculations and simulations to assess stress on various electrical components utilized in the product development process. Additionally, you will be tasked with writing Requirement Specifications for the components, collaborating with suppliers to identify suitable components that meet the requirements, and working closely with other departments such as Mechanical designers to integrate the components effectively. Moreover, you will be responsible for drafting Test Specifications, conducting tests in coordination with the Test department or third-party facilities, analyzing test results, and preparing detailed Test Reports. To excel in this role, you are expected to hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field, along with 5-8 years of experience in similar industries, particularly in power electronics. Proficiency in VSC system design and application is essential, and knowledge of electrical field and creepage is highly beneficial. You will work on various product subsystems such as light optics, electron optics, imaging, detectors, HV electronics, vacuum systems, wafer transfer systems, detection and classification algorithms, machine control, and UI software. To qualify for this position, you should have a Doctorate or Master's degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. Knowledge in instrumentation, signal processing, and optical/electro-optical systems will be advantageous. Experience with Vacuum Systems, Electron Optics, and High Voltage for scanning electron microscopes is a plus. Hands-on experience in machine control and scientific data analysis is highly desired. You should demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, or others for scientific data collection and analysis. Additionally, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to create effective technical presentations. Your role will involve setting up experiments, modeling and analyzing data, and solving complex technical problems. You will also be responsible for devising innovative solutions for complex issues and providing customer support both remotely and on-site. Travel is a significant component of this role, with an expected travel load between 50-75%. You may need to travel to customer sites in Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, and other locations.
