Senior QC Checker

Skills & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Quality Control (QC) function for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
• Perform thorough checking of Tekla models, GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings, and erection drawings against contract and design documents.
• Ensure all drawings and deliverables meet AISC, OSHA, and ADA standards, as well as specific client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to checkers, editors, and modelers to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Review and verify connection design details, member sizing, and fabrication feasibility.
• Ensure that drawings and reports submitted to clients are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project specifications.
• Develop and maintain QC procedures, checklists, and standards for the detailing team.
• Generate and validate project-specific reports and revision logs as per client standards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Team Leads, and Clients to resolve QC comments efficiently.
• Responsible for ensuring that all QC activities are completed within schedule and quality targets.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 7-10 years of total experience in structural steel detailing, with a minimum of 3-4 years in QC checking or management.
• Proven expertise in Tekla Structures software (modeling and checking).
• Strong working knowledge of AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction), OSHA, and ADA standards.
• Hands-on experience with US-based structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
• Solid understanding of fabrication and erection practices, including tolerance, connection, and material standards.
• Ability to lead a QC team, review outputs, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills.
