Senior Network Developer

Role Overview: The Network Region Build (NRB) team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is responsible for deploying greenfield infrastructure and establishing network connectivity for new OCI regions, as well as enabling compute connectivity for child sites. This role involves designing, deploying, and operating large-scale global cloud networks. You will be part of a team that provides 24x7 operational support during build phases and drives automation, process improvements, and tool development to enhance efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in Network lifecycle management through network build and/or upgrade projects - Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables - Serve as a technical lead for team projects and contribute to the development of roadmap issues - Lead the development of new runbooks and method of procedures - Mentor junior engineers and participate in network solution and architecture design process - Provide break-fix support for events and serve as an escalation point for event remediation - Coordinate with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling - Develop scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business unit - Support network vendor software bug fixes and collaborate with network vendor technical account team and internal Quality Assurance team Qualifications: - Experience in large ISP or cloud provider environments - Hands-on exposure to commodity Ethernet hardware (Broadcom, Mellanox) - Deep knowledge of routing and transport protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS - Experience with Internet peering, inter-domain networking, and VPN/SSL technologies - Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python preferred) and datacenter design - Familiarity with automation frameworks, network modeling (YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF), and telemetry systems - Strong understanding of network security design, system performance testing, and operational monitoring - Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence product direction and priorities About Us: Oracle is a world leader in cloud solutions, utilizing tomorrow's technology to address today's challenges.
