Job Description

As a MySQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for setting up, administering, and supporting MySQL database servers across Production, QA, and Development environments. Your primary tasks will include designing database monitoring systems to track performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and implementing efficient solutions. You will also be involved in creating and optimizing complex queries, indexes, stored procedures, and bulk data extractions. Additionally, you will be expected to design and implement backup, restoration, and upgrade strategies for the database servers. Experience in developing platform architectures to meet specific business requirements is a key aspect of this role. Building database tools and scripts to automate processes wherever possible will be part of your daily responsibilities. Monitoring the database systems proactively to ensure secure services with minimal downtime is crucial. Your expertise in managing large-scale, complex distributed web applications and high-throughput applications will be advantageous. Performance tuning, database monitoring tools, and skills in Replication, Clustering, Tuning, Sizing, and Monitoring are essential areas where you will demonstrate your proficiency. Furthermore, you will lead and mentor junior database administrators to enhance their skills and knowledge in MySQL administration. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are qualities we value in our team members. Holding a MySQL Certification will be considered a plus for this position. The role involves providing 24x7 support and working in rotational shifts, including night shifts and weekdays off. The specified shift timings range from early morning to late night hours to accommodate the rotational schedule. The job is full-time and offers permanent employment.
