We are looking for an experienced backend developer with NodeJS, relational, and NoSQL experience to own API integration and data architecture in our fintech software company. This is senior or senior-mid role expected to work both autonomously and in collaboration with other developers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Architect, develop, and maintain an internally-focused API integration solution serving our application developers
Design data models that seamlessly connect locally-stored data to API-sourced information
Create and maintain integrations with third-party APIs, and work with developers to fit third-party resources into existing workflow
Analyze, evolve, and extend the applications backend data models in relational and nonrelational data stores
Take ownership of internal data-access APIs, data schemas, stored procedures, and data quality
Work with other developers to design requirements, architect solutions, document decisions, and conduct code reviews
Work with report writers to ensure the data model can support specific client reporting needs
Work with DevOps to design, implement, and support infrastructure practices such as tracing, logging, secure credentials and secrets management, performance monitoring, circuit breakers, and distributed transactional support.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

7+ years software development experience, 5+ years NodeJS, systems programming language experience (e.g., Go or Rust) strongly desired

Experience in developing API-first solutions with relational, third-party API, and NoSQL backends

5+ years experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases, MongoDB experience desired

Experience in modeling, creating and managing data schemas; designing API signatures; and optimizing data query performance

Background in financial, insurance, or other regulated industries desirable

Pay: 720,000.00 - 900,000.00 per year
