Job Description and Job Specification Job Title: Sr. Medical Officer Reports To: Deputy Medical Superintendent Qualifications: M.B.B.S./DNB(Emergency Medicine)/ MEM Supervises: NA Department: Emergency Experience : Sr. Medical Officer : More then 1 Yr Job Description: Cognitive Clinical Management: Strict punctuality in attending duties. To attend any kind of emergency arising in the hospital. Documentation of history & physical examination of patient. Documentation of daily progress notes of indoor patients. Assisting the seniors at the time of rounds, Procedures and OT (as per the direction of the Seniors). Feedback to the patient attendant if the HOD permits. Preparation of the discharge summaries as per the format and to deliver before the patient leaves the hospital. Interpret and order/administer treatment after discussion with primary consultant. Clinical Non-Invasive Management: Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. (Code Blue) Order, adjust artificial feeding modalities. Clinical Invasive Management: Ryles Tube Insertion. Urethral catheterization. Peripheral Cannulation. Ascitic Tapping Under Supervision. Intubation, Pleural Tapping, Lumbar Puncture. General Management: To attend the Casualty / Emergency as and when required or as per the duty roster. Ensuring the availability of the different medicine, equipment, consumable in the department. Diagnose, treat, and manage patients conditions in consultation with Primary Consultant. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients. Evaluate patients response to treatment Referring patients to appropriate specialists. Appropriate Triaging of Patients. Cooperate with physicians to establish treatment plans for patients Oversees patient care, treatment, and recovery Proper infection control with the help of other staffs according to infection control guidelines. Guiding the Nursing and paramedical staffs. Ensuring Compliance to the hospital policies including accreditation and regulatory agencies. Implement procedures for infection control and waste management, and assure compliance as per CDC regulations Provide patient education on disease prevention and self-care & follow up. Provide on-call coverage for the hospital Attend and participate in medical staff meetings. Admission of emergency patient and refer to other organization for higher treatment. To attend medicolegal aspects according to Medicolegal Policies of the hospital. To attend academic sessions of the hospital. To prepare scientific presentation and present in the hospital and other academic forums.
