Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The R&M Manager will be responsible for the effective repair and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment across multiple processing facilities, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, compliance, and cost efficiency. The role requires strong expertise in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices, with leadership in managing teams, resources, and budgets.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

1. Equipment & Facility Maintenance Responsible for repair and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment in:

o Meat & Fruit Processing o Petfood Manufacturing o RTC / RTE and Canning Units

o Carton Manufacturing Plant

o Polymer / Strapping Plant

o Pump House, Air Compressors & Mechanical Workshop

o Cooling Towers, Water Treatment Plants

o Material Handling Equipment

o General Mechanical Fabrication & Erection works

2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.

Conduct regular equipment health checks to minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain process machinery, electrical circuits, and control devices.

3. Projects & Capex Support in project planning, BOQ preparation, and execution of R&M and capex projects.

Provide technical input for design, selection, and installation of new equipment.

4. Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to EHS guidelines, OHSAS & ISO certification requirements.

Maintain all required legal and statutory documents related to R&M.

Drive energy and water conservation initiatives.

5. Resource & Inventory Management Plan and control spares inventory (Min Max planning for critical spares).

Monitor and track R&M budget, including spares and services.

Manage maintenance manpower allocation and daily activity planning.

6. MIS & KPI Tracking Prepare and submit MIS reports on downtime, maintenance schedules, and KPI tracking.

Ensure continuous improvement in uptime, cost optimization, and reliability of assets. Key Requirements

Strong knowledge of:

o Mechanical/Electrical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, couplings. o Pneumatic systems, circuits, and components.

o Reading & interpreting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

o AutoCAD knowledge (preferred). Knowledge of IBR Boilers & Ammonia Refrigeration System, Cold Stores, Chillers and Freezers is preferable

Experience & Qualification

  • Education: B. Tech / B.E in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Preference: Electrical Engineering)
  • Experience: Minimum 10 14 years in FMCG / Food Processing / Breweries / Manufacturing industries in general maintenance (Mechanical & Electrical).
