Senior Manager, Intellectual Property

Role Overview: You will be responsible for working individually and in cross-functional teams with the in-house counsel to develop and execute intellectual property strategies. Your role will involve conducting prior art searches, analyzing the IP landscape, identifying white space, and collaborating closely with R&D teams to establish strong patenting strategies to support the business. Additionally, you will be drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications globally, either directly or by overseeing in-house or external counsel. You will also be tasked with challenging and defending patents in various post-grant proceedings and providing legal advice to cross-functional R&D and business teams on IP-related prosecution matters. Key Responsibilities: - Act individually and in cross-functional teams with in-house counsel on intellectual property strategy development - Conduct prior art searches and analyze IP landscape to identify white space - Work closely with R&D teams to build robust patenting strategies - Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide - Challenge and defend patents in various post-grant proceedings - Provide legal advice to cross-functional R&D and business teams on IP-related prosecution matters Qualifications: - PhD in chemistry from a reputed institute or Masters in Medicinal Chemistry - Minimum 2 years of experience as an R&D Scientist in a Pharmaceutical/life science company - 7-10 years of experience in handling and managing patent portfolios related to new chemical entities and formulations - Extensive experience in U.S. patent prosecution - Technical background relevant for pharmaceutical patent prosecution, including experience with small molecules, peptides, and/or biological pharmaceutical discovery and formulation development - Strong legal, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills - Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines Please note that Amneal is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on caste, religion, gender, disability, or any other legally protected status.
