The primary role of a Tax Senior in COE is to support EY's clients in reviewing, analyzing, and updating client tax information in clients" system of records, review any changes from time to time, and provide necessary support to related teams like tax reporting, withholding, etc. Tax Seniors are required to ensure the highest quality of tax deliverables, supervise, develop, and mentor staff. They are also required to help managers strengthen relationships with the client. Your key responsibilities include: - Review and analysis of indirect tax returns including VAT, GST, and Withholding Tax - Handling tax documentation remediation projects for both chapter 3 and chapter 4 reporting perspectives - Knowledge on filing forms 1042-S and 1099 - Ready to work on various countries" tax practices - Identifying opportunities for process improvement - Identifying and resolving issues on an engagement and bringing them to the attention of Assistant Managers or Managers - Encouraging critical questions and open sharing of ideas and concerns - Providing balanced and constructive feedback to team members with specific behavioral examples - Developing strengths and opportunities collaboratively with team members - Contributing to a positive team environment and maintaining focus on work products - Building positive relationships with internal professionals and client personnel Skills and attributes for success: - Develop, mentor, and supervise Analysts and Advanced Analysts - Assist the Manager in engagement management - Communicate directly with the engagement teams in other offices - Proactively recognize issues and recommend solutions - Demonstrate professionalism, poise, and effective communication - Seek opportunities to diversify client load and exposure to different teams - Foster collaboration and constructive communication within the team - Demonstrate basic presentation and public speaking skills - Communicate progress and project status to supervisors worldwide - Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work to meet your annual chargeability goal - Adhere to practice protocol and internal processes consistently Ideally, you'll also have: - Effective communication skills for different target audiences - Good analytical, numeric, and people management skills - Proficiency in MS Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Ability to make, present, and drive project plans and business cases Education: - BCOM/MBA/Other Finance Masters Experience: - 3 to 5 years relevant work experience in Tax operations or related discipline - Knowledge of accounts and Indirect tax will be an added advantage Additional Skills requirements: - Proficient in Microsoft Office - Quick learner with excellent communication skills - Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills - Strong client service focus - Ability to deliver quality analysis with tight deadlines and take full ownership of work EY offers continuous learning, success defined by you, transformative leadership, and a diverse and inclusive culture.
