We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead our design practice for retail convenience consumer technology in Bangalore. This role will drive the vision, strategy, and execution of user-centered design solutions, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and business impact across digital and physical touchpoints in the convenience retail sector. Responsibilities: - Design Leadership: Define and execute the design vision and strategy for retail convenience consumer tech, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs. - Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of UX/UI designers, researchers, and content professionals. - Design Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation through prototyping, testing, and final implementation. - Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, engineering, and business teams to deliver intuitive, scalable, and innovative design solutions. - User-Centric Innovation: Champion user research and data-driven design, ensuring products meet and exceed customer expectations in convenience retail environments. - Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce design best practices, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines. - Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary design advocate, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional partners to align design initiatives with company objectives. - Design Community: Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning within the design team and across the organization. Key Skills Required: - Design Expertise: Deep knowledge of UX/UI design, design systems, interaction design, and user research methodologies. - Retail/Consumer Tech: Understanding of retail convenience, consumer technology trends, and digital/physical customer journeys. - Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and lead high-performing design teams. - Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. - Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to address complex user and business challenges. - Innovation Mindset: Passion for leveraging design to create exceptional user experiences and drive business value. Education & Experience: - 12+ years of progressive experience in design, with at least 5 years in leadership or management roles. - Demonstrated success in leading design teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions for retail, convenience, or consumer technology markets. - Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in a collaborative environment. - Strong business acumen and understanding of retail and consumer technology trends in the Bangalore/India market. - Work Experience with tools such as Figma & Sketch. - Bachelor's or advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred.
