Senior Engineer - Power Systems

Role Overview: You will be responsible for conducting power system analysis of transmission and distribution projects, including feasibility studies, masterplans, despatch studies, and renewable integration. You will prepare renewable generation connection schemes and perform load flow studies, fault level calculations, harmonic analysis, and voltage stability and transient stability analysis using various software tools. Additionally, you will review technical submittals, power system models, and ensure grid compliance requirements are met. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct power system analysis of transmission and distribution projects - Prepare renewable generation connection schemes and determine optimum amount of renewable generation - Perform load flow studies, fault level calculations, harmonic analysis, and stability analysis - Review technical submittals by EPC contractor in reference to Electricity Transmission Code and international standards - Attend meetings, address technical clarifications, and ensure performance criteria are met during FAT & SAT visits - Assist in incorporating equipment models into network models for planning studies - Conduct various power system studies including reactive power capability, grid impact, stability, and protection relay setting coordination Qualifications: - Masters Degree in Electrical / Power systems Engineering - Minimum 10-15 years of experience in similar capacity - Proficiency in power system study software like PSS Sincal, PSSE, PLS CAD, Dig silent - Experience in Power System Studies and Grid Impact studies on Transmission and Distribution projects - Knowledge of software languages like Python/Java is an added advantage - Prior experience working with electrical utilities like TRANSCO/SEC/ADDC is preferred - Strong people management skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities About the Company: WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm with a global presence.
