Senior Engineer Mechanical (Power Plant)

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Assisting the GCC group team leader in planning and allocating team resources and tasks. - Providing technical support to the Pre-Contract and Project Delivery teams on design, construction, and operation of power and desalination plants. - Conducting detailed design of power and water projects using performance modelling software packages. - Evaluating tender submissions and preparing reports. - Preparing technical specifications, design drawings, and layout drawings. - Reviewing design and performance calculations and drawings of Contractors/subcontractors/vendors. - Attending and contributing to team and project meetings. - Reporting and monitoring site progress to Project Manager/client. - Attending factory acceptance tests for equipment manufactured both in India and abroad. - Preparing Due Diligence reports and Operation reports. - Reviewing method statements/test procedures submitted by contractors for site activities. - Reviewing and preparing monthly and quarterly construction progress reports. - Maintaining awareness of technological advances and industry best practices. Mandatory Skills: - Design office experience in power and water projects. - Experience in Thermodynamic Power Plant Cycle Analysis and power plant systems/equipment. - Knowledge of pre- and post-treatment processes in desalination plants. - Experience in large desalination and power plant projects, preferably in the Middle East. - Experience in the selection of mechanical/BOP equipment. - Preparation of technical specifications for power and desalination plants. - Design review of power and desalination plants. - Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines. - Validation of specific calculation procedures. - Willingness to travel overseas for project meetings. - Familiarity with relevant international standards. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Good computer skills. Desired Skills: - Knowledge of GT PRO, Thermodynamic Modelling. - Knowledge of IWP/IWPP contracts. - Knowledge of cost of power and desalination plants/equipment.
