Job
Description
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and detail Aerospace MEA Motor Products to meet design, manufacturability & assembly requirements in alignment with Aerospace & Industry standards. You will create innovative product concepts based on breakthrough technologies for aerospace applications and perform product cost analysis leveraging VAVE techniques to identify and implement cost-out opportunities. Utilizing CAD platforms such as PRO/E, Creo, AutoCAD, RasterCAD, and MotorCAD, you will perform detailed design engineering and drawing quality checks for the drawings prepared by local as well as global teams. Additionally, you will perform Design for Manufacturability & Assembly assessment and provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts, assisting in building prototypes for proof of concepts. In this role, you will lead sustaining engineering and runner projects independently and interact with global cross-functional teams. Capturing customer voice, understanding and executing milestones, conducting technical and project reviews, communication, and on-the-job development and learning will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You will also utilize DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development and/or existing product improvements. Creation of 3D models and drawings of new product designs, modification of existing drawings and models, sustaining process for design standards, and procedures governing product design methods will be part of your routine tasks. You will build prediction models for product performance parameters, optimize performance, and perform complex engineering assignments involving product design, testing, compliance to specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques. As part of your role, you will utilize your understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs, act as a technical resource for internal/external customers, and resolve technical challenges. Proto-type build execution, performance/durability testing, and teardown of prototype samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements will also be required. Additionally, contributing to innovative product solutions by filing high-quality disclosures and patents, continuous learning resulting in enhancement of organizational objectives, and performing quality checks to ensure designs meet Eaton and customer standards/requirements are essential aspects of this role. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 6-10 years of experience. Proficiency in CAD tools, preferably ProE/CATIA, and experience with PLM tool ENOVIA, along with proficiency in electrical motor design, is required. You should also be aware of engineering designs, drawings, tolerance stack-up analysis, application engineering domain, design for manufacturing & assembly know-how, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), DMAIC methodology, and tools necessary for product engineering. Strong analytical and presentation skills, hardworking ability, desire for excellence in sustaining engineering, and strong and effective communication skills are also essential for this role.,
