Senior Engineer - Bridges

As a Bridge Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports. Your role will involve having assessment and design experience in Steel Composite, Pretension and Posttension structures. Additionally, you will be required to carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair of bridges. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards as well as WSP WoW procedures. - Perform design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer. - Assist in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines, ensuring compliance with the project brief. - Follow QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines on all work. - Implement document control and QA processes correctly for issue, filing, and archiving of all work. - Produce work according to specified WSP design standards, suggest revisions to standards as necessary, and ensure the use of relevant standards and guides in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes (WoW). - Ensure compliance with AIP or other project requirements. - Use WSP calculation templates, ensure calculation sheets comply with WSP standards, and utilize WSP Technical library and Information systems for design work. - Ensure the use of the latest version of British and European Standards, unless specifically required by AIP. - Continually develop skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and share knowledge with colleagues. - Participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information within the team and communicate with other teams in WSP. - Strive for a "First Time Right" culture, learn from mistakes to avoid repetition, and be proficient in computer-aided design software. Qualifications Required: - Mandatory skills in Bridge Design, Eurocodes, and UK CEng will be essential for this role.
